I like the idea of reading the autism blogs and will do it. I don't have problem with what so many others are doing by shutting down though, even though I'm not doing it. It seems to me like this has become another issue where sides are being lines up on (generally speaking). I am choosing to appreciate the impulse people are having to do Something, whether that be to shut down for awareness or to speak up
:-) I don't see this as a sides kind of thing; I'm not familiar with the group that organized the shutdown and don't have any feelings one way or another with how or what people do on an day that has been arbitrarily set aside.
I do, as I wrote in my comment to Marianne in the blog below with all the links to autistic bloggers and at http://kwomblescountering.blogspot.com/2010/10/in-which-i-get-pissed-off-not-shutting.html, have a problem with peer pressure and invoking an appeal to celebrity and bandwagoning. People should feel free to go about raising awareness of autism in whatever way they feel is best for them.
I'm posting today too Kim!

I want to share the Autistics Speaking Day form Germany with you.
Hi, I've added both blogs to the directory and the list in the blog below. http://autismblogsdirectory.blogspot.com/2010/10/not-going-silent-on-november-1.html
Thank you very much.
I hope that many bloggers will share this great idea.
